I donโ€™t know why but earlier today I thought of Joe. I was at Gateway with him in July 2016. Joe and I hit it off right away but he was an easy guy to like. We stayed in touch for a while afterwards but lost contact about a year later. While sitting next to him in one of our classes I had the second of 2 seizures I had during recovery. Joe saved my life. He sprung from his chair and broke my fall. Iโ€™m 6โ€™3โ€ 225. The next day when I returned from the hospital Joe gave me the longest deepest hug maybe any man had ever given me outside of my family. Iโ€™ll never forget him.

Joe, we grew up together living behind one another's homes. It was always a pleasure to speak and hang out with you. I was also happy when we reconnected during and after high school. You are, and always will be, a beautiful soul. May you rest in peace and your family be consoled with the sweet memories of you.

Joe was a friend of my neighbor and her family and like a son to my neighbor. Joe knew I am disabled and every time he came to visit or stay with my neighbor he came by to see if I needed help in anyway. He put in an Air Conditioner for me, he would take out my garbage or play with my little dog. He would carry my groceries in from my car for me. He always made sure to take time to talk with me, which is rare with young people now a days. I am so sorry such a beautiful and caring young man is lost to s all. But Joes kindness and caring spirit will remain with me and Iam sure with everyone who knew him. God bless you Joe. I will miss your caring and kindness.
