Sylvia Jersic died peacefully on Saturday November 4th 2017 in Elk Grove Village, Illinois at the age of 82. Sylvia is survived by her children Steven and Jeanne. Sylvia was born on June 13, 1935 in Chicago, Illinois to Steven and Rose Nowak. She had one brother Kenneth Nowak. She graduated from Chicago Teaching College with a degree in Teaching. She married Benedict Jersic. The couple welcomed two children into their home and Sylvia set about teaching them to love and enjoy life and the things it has to offer. Her children remember her as a kind and loving mother who encouraged them to pursue their goals. Sylvia was a generous individual who loved helping others and who was passionate about supporting her family and going to live entertainment events. She enjoyed going to Chicago White Sox and Chicago Black Hawks games. She loved all live sporting events and live theater. She had season tickets for both the Chicago White Sox and Drury Lane Theatre. A Life Celebration Memorial is scheduled for Thursday, November 30th at 6:00 PM at Bella Vista Banquets, 207 West Main Street, Bensenville, IL 60106, with a reception to follow at the same location. Memorials to the Sylvia Jersic memorial fund in care of her family appreciated.
