Hildelisa Abarca, 85 passed away on Monday, February 22, 2021. Hilda was born December 22, 1935 in Mazatlan, Sinaloa Mexico to Nicolas and Antonia Perales. She is survived by her loving sons Ruben and Jacob Abarca and her two granddaughters Isabella and Juliette Abarca. Also, by her brother Manuel Perales (age 95) and her sister Ernestina Cruz-Perales (age 88).
Hilda was married to Sergio Abarca on November of 1968 and gave birth to her first son Sergio Abarca Jr. in 1969. She moved to Chicago in the 1960's and lived in Arlington Heights since 2003.
She was one of Jehovah's Witness and was very devoted to her faith. Hilda served in various regions of Mexico and the United States raising her children to adhere to Bible based principles. She thoroughly enjoyed reading and teaching others the Bible and through the years helped countless families learn and draw close to Jehovah God. Among her favorite Bible scriptures was (2 Cor 1:3, 4). "Praised be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our trials so that we may be able to comfort others in any sort of trial with the comfort that we receive from God".
While Hilda spent most of her time as a housewife raising her children, for several years she owned a women's clothing store in the Little Village community.
Hilda loved flowers, gardening, and spending time admiring the beauty of creation. She was a big White Sox fan and loved going to baseball games. Hildelisa was loved by many and will be sorely missed. Visitation will be on Friday, February 26, 2021 at Heritage Funeral Home, 3117 Oak Park Ave. Berwyn, IL 60402 from 10am-12pm.
