Jose Salvador Tellez aka “Papa Shorty”, 75 year old, of Cicero, Illinois, passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2020 at MacNeal Hospital after a courageous battle with Covid 19.

Born on February 6,1945, in Coeneo, Michoacan, Mexico, he was the son of the late Jose Tellez and Margarita Garzilazo and brother of thirteen siblings: Salud, David, Francisco, Consuelo, Celia, Eugenia, Dagoberto, Gerardo, Gilberto, Salvador, Estela, Magdalena and Tiburcio.

Papa Shorty married his beloved wife Guadalupe on February 13, 1982. During their 38 years of marriage they raised a family of 6 children. 25 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Papa Shorty’s children are: Carlos Tellez (Maria); Arturo Tellez (Norma); Fernando Tellez (Alejandra); Eduardo Tellez (Yolanda); Sandra Tellez (Joel Flores) Salvador Tellez (Erica); Jose Tellez (Maria) and Maria Guadalupe Fonseca (Arturo).

His 25 Grandchildren are: Carolina (Tony), Yolanda (Marcos), Adriana (Geronimo), Andrea, Violeta, Angel, Crystal (Jose), Aaron, Montserrat, Ana Karen, Maria Fernanda, Alan, Abigail, Valeria, Chrystal, Alexis,  Ivan Javier, Daniel Anthony, Jaythan, Josie Ramona, Genesis, Vanessa, Erik, Jonathan, and Arturo Jr.

His 11 Great grandchildren are: Aliyah D., Natalie A., Aiden,  Briana A., Julian F., Jazlyn I., Marcos A. Carlos D. Geovanni, Kevin A., and Kaytlyn.

Jose Tellez will be laid to rest in a private ceremony at Mary Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside, Ilinois on Friday, June 5, 2020 following a private visitation at Heritage Funeral Home in Berwyn.
