Maria D. Diaz, age 70, passed away August 16, 2017 after a brief struggle with pancreatic cancer at Seasons Hospice in Berwyn IL.

Maria was born Maria Luna on July 31, 1947  in  the Little Italy neighborhood of Taylor Street, in Chicago, Illinois. The eldest of six siblings. 

On July 13, 1973, Maria married the love of her life Manuel Diaz. In addition to raising two daughters, Maria took pride in her career as a Telephone Operator. She retired at the age of 55, after 26 years with Illinois Bell /AT&T.

Maria was a strong, dedicated woman, with much love and wisdom.  She helped  many people that knew her with her guidance,  knowledge  and generosity. 

Maria is survived by her husband Manuel Diaz. Daughters Margarita, Lucia and stepdaughter Gracie.  Son-in-law 's Mike, Paul and Rudy. Eight grandchildren Lucio,  Michael,  Raven,  Joseph,  Gianna,  Angelica,  Delilah and Jacob. (Surviving sisters Anita and Penny.)

Maria requested a private mass. The family would like to thank all those who loved and cared for Maria.
