Barbara Jean Sharper, at rest September 3, 2026. Beloved partner of the late Nicholas Dellago for 35 years. Loving mother of Colonee Nuyttens, the late Lona (James) Bachochin, and late baby boy that she now joins in Heaven. Cherished grandmother of Madison Bachochin, CaLyle Washington (Stevon Hanserd), Jamel, LeRon, and Mykel Washington. Loving great grandmother of Raliyah, Samya, Jamel Jr., Sire, Diem, Phero, Mianhi, and Jensen. Dearest Aunt of John, Mary, Christine, Anthony, Sandra, Louis, Marlena, Cindeal, Gabrielle, and the late Joseph. Fond aunt of a host of great nieces and nephews.
A tribute from the Zito family:
Thinking about Barb and what she meant to all of us. She was such a strong woman and such a presence. She was incredibly intelligent, independent, and she absolutely did not take shit from anyone. She wasn’t afraid to speak her mind or tell you exactly how she felt, whether you wanted to hear it or not. She was always going to tell it like it was.
But underneath that toughness was such a huge sense of responsibility for the people she loved. She took care of herself, but she also took care of her whole family. She made sure everyone was safe, cared for, and okay. She was the kind of woman who would stand up and handle whatever needed handling.
I always remember how tough she was, and honestly, from everything you’re telling me, it sounds like she was still fighting to be strong right up until the very end. That was your mom. A real force of reckoning.
