David Vanderway

David Alan Vanderway, born on December 24, 1949, in Chicago, IL, peacefully passed away on
June 18, 2024, in Maywood, IL.
 
Dave, the very definition of a hard working man in support of his family, dedicated his career to
the art of printing, mastering the craft with precision and care throughout his life. Beyond his
profession, he was known for his deep passion for classic cars. Dave possessed an uncanny
ability to identify the year of vintage automobiles solely by the style of their headlights, a skill
that amazed friends and family alike.

Preceded in death by his parents Herman and Mary Vanderway, and his sister Carolyn (Adam)
Yurkiw, Dave is survived by his loving spouse Sandy, his children Eric (Michelle), Brian
(Christine), Kristen (Michael DiBenedetto), Joy (John Sostak), and his cherished grandchildren
Toby, Tyler, Nicholas, Brooke, Clara, Leo, John, Edith, and Henry. He is also survived by nieces
and nephews.
 
A memorial service to honor and celebrate Dave's life will be held at Heritage Funeral Home
and Cremation, LLC, located at 3117 South Oak Park Avenue, Berwyn, IL 60402.
 
Dave will be deeply missed by all who knew him for his warmth, humor, and the joy he brought
to those around him. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
