Deborah Lynn Rodriguez, 72, of Brookfield, IL, passed away peacefully at her home on August 29, 2024, surrounded by loved ones. Born on June 14, 1952, Deborah was a pillar of strength, kindness, and compassion throughout her life. Deborah was the beloved wife of the late Fernando Rodriguez and is survived by her devoted children, Brittani Picardi, Gregory Current Jr., and Joshua Current, along with her daughter-in-law, Yiyuan Current. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Eddie (and his wife, Stephanie), Janessa (and her fiancé, Jay), Brianna, Savannah, Coraline, and Frances, and a great-grandmother to Kaden, Ethan, Noah, and Kylie. Deborah worked as a security officer at Briarwood Lakes in Oakbrook, IL, for over 20 years, a role she took great pride in. Her true joy, however, was her family. She was the glue that held them together, always giving selflessly, and she was known for her compassionate and kind spirit. A strong and defiant woman with a heart of gold, Deborah’s warmth and generosity touched everyone who knew her. Deborah was also a dear aunt and a loyal friend to many. She is also survived by her brothers Daniel, David, and Brian Thornton, and she now joins her brother James Michael Thornton and her sister Pamela Hayes in peace. Deborah’s legacy is one of unconditional love, strength, and devotion to her family. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved her. In accordance with Deborah’s final request, there will be no service or memorial.
