Eileen “Sugar” Powell, 70
Chicago, IL
8/13/2020
Passed peacefully while her daughters sang “Brown Eyed Girl” and held her while her soul was dancing on the way to heaven! Survived by her 4 daughters Tara, Melissa, Keira, & Angel, 5 grandchildren and her youngest sister “Babe.”
Eileen “Sugar" was born in Brooklyn, NY; the oldest daughter in a family of four kids. The “fiery miracle baby” was so strong willed she out lived 2 husbands and raised 4 amazing women who have a bond unlike any other. She created traditions with her daughters that still live on with her grandchildren; such as waking up to a room full of balloons on their birthdays, birthday calls accompanied with a song/rap and at other times being bounced on while she sang “the elephants are coming to town, to town!” As a mother, she taught her daughters what family means and showed us the true meaning of unconditional love.
Eileen “Sugar” was a life long student with a passion for service to others and spiritual enlightenment. She was always one to live life to its fullest, bringing love and laughter in the darkest of times. Her journey included “boosting” cars in a mini skirt, being the first female mechanic’s assistant on Long Island, real estate agent, biker, tap dancer, educator, drug abuse counselor, AA mentor, wife, sister, mother, friend, prayer warrior AND SO MUCH MORE! She traveled the United States, parts of the world and through our hearts and souls.
Eileen “Sugar" took playing games and living life to a whole new level with her feisty competitive spirit, her infectious laugh and undeniably entertaining sense of humor.
Eileen accomplished many things, LIVED LIFE TO THE ABSOLUTE FULLEST, touched many lives and ended In the arms of Jesus.
WE LOVE AND MISS YOU, A WHOLE BUNCH EVEN!
