It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Esperanza Villagomez, formerly of Hobart Indiana, on February 17, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Esperanza was born on February 13, 1956 in San Luis Potosí, SLP Mexico. She immigrated to Chicago with her parents at a young age and grew up in Little Village. Her greatest accomplishment was raising her children. She cherised every moment spent with family and friends at gatherings. She also had a passion for shopping, especially for purses and Jewelry.
Esperanza was preceded in death by her father Rafael Diaz de Leon, her mother Esperanza, her brother Carlos and her son Salvador Villagomez Jr.
She is survived by her beloved daughter Monique Palma (Jorge) her Grandchildren, Desiree, Nicholas, Mariela, Krystal, and Isaiah and her Great Granchildren Alaiya and Elijah.
She was a Loving sister to Rafael, Jorge (Bertha), Armando (Carmen), Carlos (Cheryl), Gracie (Rick), and Sonia.
She was loved by so many nieces and nephews.
Esperanza, affectionately known as Pel, Chencha and Mima will be deeply missed by all those that she’s left behind. Her love will live on in our hearts Forever.
Visitation will be held at Heritage Funeral home located at 3117 S. Oak Park in Berwyn Illinois on Friday February 21, 2025 from 3:00pm to 8:00pm. Mass on Saturday February 22nd, 1:30 p.m. at St. Odilo Catholic Church, 23rd Street and East Avenue in Berwyn. Services will conclude at the church.
