Guillermo Lopez

Una vida de servicio, fe y dedicación.  Guillermo López falleció en paz, rodeado de su familia, el 4 de febrero de 2026, a los 84 años de edad; deja un legado marcado por la bondad, la honestidad y la resiliencia. Nacido en México, emigró a los Estados Unidos, trayendo una gran experiencia como miembro del ejército mexicano. Su trayectoria estuvo definida por el valor y la determinación, cualidades que seguirían marcando su vida en su país adoptivo.  Guillermo estuvo casado con su amada esposa, Graciela, 59 extraordinarios años, un verdadero testimonio de su devoción. Juntos criaron a siete hijos, formando una familia unida y amorosa que permanece como un tributo viviente a su carácter.  En los Estados Unidos, Guillermo trabajó en diversos oficios demandantes, incluyendo trabajador del hierro, operador de elevadores y carpintero. Su compromiso con su trabajo, combinado con su fuerte sentido de integridad, le ganó el respeto de sus compañeros y de su comunidad.  Católico devoto, la fe de Guillermo fue el centro de su vida. Era conocido por ser generoso, empático y valiente, siempre dispuesto a brindar una mano amiga o palabras de consuelo. Su gran sentido del humor y su habilidad para conectar con los demás llevaban alegría a quienes lo rodeaban.  El legado de Guillermo perdura en su esposa, sus hijos y en los muchos que en su vida tocó. Será recordado como un hombre amable, honesto y resiliente, un brillante ejemplo de valentía, empatía y fe inquebrantable.  Lo vamos a extrañar profundamente.

Visitation on Sunday February 15, from 3-8 pm at Heritage Funeral Home 3117 Oak Park Avenue, Berwyn. Funeral Monday February 16, 10:00 a.m. Mass at St Pius V Church 1919 South Ashland Avenue Chicago, Illinois.  Interment, Forest Home Cemetery, Forest Park IL.   

El velorio se llevará a cabo el domingo 15 de febrero, de 15:00 a 20:00 horas, en la funeraria Heritage Funeral Home, ubicada en 3117 Oak Park Avenue, Berwyn. El funeral se celebrará el lunes 16 de febrero a las 10:00 a.m. con una misa en la iglesia St. Pius V  1919 S. Ashland Avenue, Chicago.  El entierro tendrá lugar en el cementerio Forest Home Cemetery, en Forest Park, IL.

A Life of Service, Faith, and Dedication.  Guillermo Lopez peacefully passed away surrounded by his family on February 4, 2026, at the age of 84; he leaves behind a legacy marked by kindness, honesty, and resilience. Born in Mexico, he immigrated to the United States, bringing with him a wealth of experiences as a member of the Mexican military. His journey was defined by courage and determination, qualities that would continue to shape his life in his adopted country.  Guillermo was married to his beloved wife, Graciela for an extraordinary 59 years, a testament to his devotion. Together, they raised seven children, forming a close-knit and loving family that stands as a living tribute to his character. In the United States, Guillermo worked in a variety of demanding roles, including iron worker, elevator operator, and carpenter. His commitment to his work, combined with his strong sense of integrity, earned him the respect of peers and community alike.  A devout Catholic, Guillermo’s faith was central to his life. He was known for being giving, empathetic, and brave, always ready to lend a helping hand or offer words of comfort. His great sense of humor and ability to connect with others brought joy to those around him. Guillermo’s legacy is carried forward by his wife, children, and the many whose lives he touched. He will be remembered as a kind, honest, and resilient man, a shining example of courage, empathy, and unwavering faith.  We will deeply miss him.
