Helen F Cieslek

Helen Frances Cieslek (Lomec) was born in Berwyn, IL on March 6th, 1932 and sadly departed this earth on March 22nd, 2025 at the age of 93. She grew up on Euclid Ave. and went to Morton High School.  She lived in Hinsdale for 16 years, and then moved to Darien for another 46 years. She was married for a wonderful 66 years to Michael Cieslek. She was known as an avid bowler, roller skater,  collector of Beanie Babies, and was heavily involved in the church. She also made beautiful handmade crafts, ran her own home refunding business, and loved casino gambling…where she even won a car! She would always talk about her travels but her favorites included Sedona, Hawaii, and even more exotic trips outside the US including Asia. Helen loved life and felt that if she couldn’t give 110% to whatever she did, it wasn’t worth doing. She is succeeded by her children David (Frances) Cieslek and Michaelynn (David) Benedict as well as her 3 loving grandchildren: David Cieslek, Alanna Cieslek, and Dr. Xaverie (Thomas) Benedict/Randazzo.
