Celebrating the Life of Ivan Moreno
September 6, 1996 – March 30, 2026
Ivan Moreno, a beloved son, brother, uncle, and lifelong resident of Cicero, Illinois, passed away on March 30, 2026, at the age of 29. Known for his quiet strength, his incredible talent on the baseball diamond, and his unwavering devotion to his family, Ivan leaves behind a legacy of kindness and deep-rooted connections.
Legacy of Kindness
Ivan was a man of immense heart and quiet resilience. He is survived by his devoted parents, Fernando and Araceli Moreno; his brothers, Jonathan (Angie) and Giovanni; his cherished nephews, Isaiah and Noah; and his loyal dog, Jax. He will be deeply missed by a large and loving extended family of uncles, aunts, and cousins who were an integral part of his life.
A Life of Growth and Ambition
Born in Chicago on September 6, 1996, Ivan began his education at St. Mary’s in Riverside before attending Nazareth Academy and eventually graduating from Morton East High School. Following his time at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC), where he explored his interest in physical therapy, Ivan set his sights on the skies. He was on his way to aquire his FAA license at the Chicago Aviation Institute of Maintenance, a pursuit that reflected his technical skill and his dedication to building a bright future.
The Heart of a Ballplayer & Coach
For Ivan, baseball wasn't just a sport—it was a language he shared with his father and brothers. From the moment he could lift a bat, Ivan was a natural. Whether he was commanding the "hot corner" at third base or showing off the powerhouse swing that earned him a reputation, Ivan played with both skill and soul.
His love for the game extended far beyond his own play. Ivan was a proud and dedicated coach to his nephew, Isaiah, and his teammates. On the field, he was a patient mentor, teaching the next generation not just the mechanics of the game, but the value of teamwork and perseverance. He remained a fixture in adult leagues, keeping the family passion for the game alive in every inning.
Family First
While Ivan was often the "quiet observer" in a room, those within his inner circle knew him as the true life of the party. He found his greatest joy within the walls of the home he shared with his parents, brothers, and their families.
To Ivan, his nephews, Isaiah and Noah, were the lights of his life. He was a hero in their eyes, just as he was a mentor and "partner in crime" to his younger brother, Gio. The family’s bond was forged in tradition—from the competitive energy on the baseball field to the sun-soaked summers spent camping at Devil’s Lake and exploring Wisconsin Dells. These trips remain some of the most cherished memories for the entire Moreno family.
