In Loving Memory Of….
Jozefa Szwarc (Placiszewska) (01/06/1937 - 09/10/2024)
Jozefa Szwarc, born the second of eight children to Jozef and Marianna Placiszewska in Poland. She was a woman of remarkable strength and resilience. She grew up alongside her six sisters—Lili, Krystyna, Bozenna, Urszula, Honorata, and Mariola—and her brother, Zdzislaw.
A devoted wife to Stanley Szwarc, who passed in 2011, Jozefa built a life rooted in love, family, and hard work. Together, they raised two children, Jason M. Szwarc and Joanna I. Szwarc, instilling in them the same values of perseverance and integrity that defined her life.
Jozefa’s strength showed in every chapter of her life. As a young woman, she served as a nurse in the Polish Army, caring for others with compassion and diligence. Her courage and determination led her to a new life in the United States, where she proudly became a citizen in 1999. Well into her 70s, Jozefa worked at a meat-packing plant, a testament to her unwavering work ethic and her independent spirit. She never backed down from a challenge, always determined to provide for her family and to stay active, no matter the obstacles she faced.
She is survived by her son, Jason M. Szwarc (and his wife, Selena), her daughter, Joanna I. Szwarc, and her beloved grandchildren: Darlene Compean, Charles Compean, Christopher Szwarc, Colin Szwarc, Carlos Compean, and her great-grandchildren: Juliana, Elijah, and Aubree.
Jozefa was a woman who lived her life with quiet strength. She leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and independence. Though she is no longer with us, her spirit will live on in the lives of all who knew her.
We give thanks that our mother, now at peace, will live forever in your presence, Lord. We find comfort in knowing that she is now with you, where she is free from pain and struggle. We trust in your grace and look forward to the day when we will be reunited with her in your heavenly kingdom. In your son, Jesus Christ’s name, we pray. Amen.
