Julian Cortez, 88, of Paras Nuevo León, Mexico, peacefully passed away on February 2, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones. His life was a testament to the profound impact of family, unconditional love, hard work, and music. As a devoted husband to Maria (Salazar), Julian was a loving father to Oscar (Marisela), Felicidad (Richard), Julian (Barbara), Ricardo, Louie (Anthony) Father Figure to Michelle (Manny), Julio, and Jesus. Julian was a devoted grandfather to Richard Jr., Vanessa, Valerie, Natalie, Cecily, Ricardo Jr., Desiree, Javier, Julissa, Julian Jr., Angel, Lisette, Samuel, and Olivia. He was also a cherished great-grandfather to many. Julian was a fond brother to Jose Cortez and a kind uncle to many nieces and nephews. He will be remembered for his unwavering devotion to his family, his infectious laughter, and his warm smile.
Visitation on Thursday February 5th, from 3:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home 3117 S. Oak Park Avenue, Berwyn. Funeral on Friday February 6, 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home, then proceeding to St. Leonard Catholic Church (Blessed Miguel Pro) 3118 S. Clarence Avenue, Berwyn, for 11:00 a.m. Mass. Services will conclude at the church. Cremation private.
