On May 6, 2026, the Lord welcomed home June Kutak, who passed peacefully and naturally after a life dedicated to motherhood, family, and service to others.
June lived a life centered around people. She was naturally drawn to others wherever she went, a true social butterfly whose spirited personality and loving heart touched many lives across the many places she called home throughout her life.
Born and raised in Chicago, June cherished childhood memories made during vacations with her beloved father in the Ozarks. Later in life, she moved to Kentucky, where she spent the rest of her days. June loved the Lexington countryside and often dreamed of having a farm where the whole family could always be together. More than anything, she cherished having her loved ones close.
June lived life in service to others—as a nurse, a waitress, happily serving her family homemade meals, but also as a faithful servant of the Lord. She welcomed people from all walks of life to come eat at her table. Her home was always welcome to all.
She was fierce, comical, and full of personality. A friend, a mother, a sister, a grandmother, and a wife. Above all, her love was felt through home-cooked meals, warm embraces, affectionate nicknames, and the joy she found in babies, children, and family gatherings.
When remembering June, her family will think of the moments where her joy shone brightest: praising God in the church choir, singing “You Are My Sunshine” to her babies, and playing the Forester Sisters as she drove down Kentucky country roads with the windows down, curly hair blowing in the wind.
Born the only daughter of Rose McNearney and Henry Clay Kutak, June spent many years married to Richard Sierzega Sr., with whom she raised six children. She is survived by her daughters Patricia, Barbara, Raegn (Chas), and Andrea (Jason); her brother Richard Kutak; her grandchildren Audrey (Harry), Amanda (Kevin), Luke, Andrew, Matthew, and Anderson; and her great-grandchildren Bayleigh, Raelynn, and Genevieve. She is also lovingly remembered by five foster children.
She was preceded in death by her brother Robert; her husbands Richard Sierzega Sr. and Delbert Moore; and her sons Richard Jr. and Timothy, who helped welcome her into the arms of our Lord.
