Lucille B Nelson

Lucille B. Nelson, nee Belderson, age 98, at rest July 14, 2024.  Beloved wife of the late Monty G. Nelson, Loving Mother of Margie Pechota, Tom (Diane) Nelson, Jim (Sue) Nelson, John Nelson, Mark (Donna) Nelson.   Adored grandmother of Tammy, Cory, the late Jeremy, Kacie, Christopher, Cameron, Madeline, Monty, Nathan, and Grant.  Best great-grandmother of Henrik, Uli, Erik, Hunter and Ryder.  Dearest sister of Marilyn (late Bob) Brown.  Preceded in death by her parents, Bernard and Gertrude Belderson (nee; Klump) and her brother the late Bud (late Laverne) Belderson.  Originally from Escondido CA, her father worked for the railroad, and they briefly lived in a box car home. Lucille moved with her family to Chicago in the 1930's at age 7 and became a member of St. Leonard Parish.  Lucille was one of the oldest alumnus of St. Leonard Catholic School in Berwyn, graduated from St. Leonard Junior High, and was a graduate of Trinity High School.  She and her husband Monty owned the Nelson & Sons News Agency in Berwyn, she enjoyed her luncheons with the Red Hat Society", the Pav YMCA senior group and the Berwyn Women's Club.  Lucille volunteered for St. Leonard, primarily with the elderly, and was also a Hospice volunteer.  Visitation at Heritage Funeral Home 3117 S. Oak Park Avenue on Friday July 19, from 3-8 p.m.  Funeral Saturday July 20, 9 am at the funeral home, proceeding to St. Leonard Catholic Church 3318 Clarence Avenue, Berwyn for 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial.  Interment, Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery, Hillside, IL.  In lieu of flowers, please bring a plant of your choice, make a donation to a charity of your choice, or donations to CORE UGANDA, C/O St. Leonard Church, Berwyn.
