Mayme A. Vandenburg

Mayme Alberta (Florer) Vandenberg, 86 of Melrose Park, IL sadly left us on May 12, 2024..  She was born October 16, 1937 in Tefft Indiana to Clarence and Erna Florer.  Mayme loved to travel, especially to Las Vegas in her younger years.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, concerts in the park, was an avid reader and loved her scratch-off tickets.  She always dreamed of winning big so she could take care of her entire family.  Mayme was fiercely independent even as she got older and always insisted on doing things for herself.  We will miss her deeply, but she will always remain in our hearts and minds and in everything we do.  Mayme is survived by her brother Ron (Ellen) Florer, son Robert (Maria) Volka and daughter Kathy Blanco.  Mayme was a loving grandmother to Jon (Liz) Volka, Kathy (Rich) Tito, Jason (Nicole) Blanco and Megan (Mike) Tvrdik.  Mayme was also blessed with eleven great grandchildren.  Mayme is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Juanita (Don) Knoll, sister Althea (George) Williams, and brothers Carl Florer and Howard Florer.   Services are pending.
