Michael P. Mcgahan, 71 of Berwyn, Il. died December 15, 2023 Mike was an avid Chicago White Sox fan, Bears fan and a voracious reader. He loved listening to the Rolling Stones, Elton John and 60’s Rock-n-Roll. Mike enjoyed spending time with his brothers and sisters swapping a good story and drinking a fine glass of bourbon. Mike graduated from DePaul University in 1974 with a B.A. in History and worked in Furniture Retail for Carson, Pirie, Scott and Co. as well as Marshall Field’s in Chicago. He is predeceased by his father James L. and his mother Beatrice (nee Manley) and is survived by his loving wife Molly O’Donnell, sisters Chrissie (Bill, deceased) Rees, Audrey (Chris) Schade, Beatrice (Hamilton) Fonesca, Casey (Mike) McDaniel, and brothers Terry (Sue) and Peter (Lynn) McGahan, and numerous wonderful nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at the Heritage Funeral Home, 3117 South Oak Park Ave., Berwyn, IL 60402 on Wednesday, December 27 from 2 to 4 pm. Flowers are gratefully declined. Contributions may be made to the “White Sox Charities” (www.mlb.com/whitesox/charities) or the “Greater Chicago Food Depository” (www.chicagosfoodbank.org) in Mike’s memory.
