Nancy Gayle Shoults Rizzo, born on January 8, 1957, at Ft. Belvoir, VA passed away on December 26, 2024, at Rush Hospital in Chicago, Illinois.
Nancy is survived by her loving husband, Charles Rizzo of Bensenville, Illinois; her sister, Carolyn Morgan of Venice, Florida; her niece, Nicole Stovall of Southlake, Texas; and her nephew, Steven Morgan of Windsor, Colorado. After marrying Chuck, she quickly became a Rizzo family favorite with her kind ways and genuine caring presence. She will also be fondly remembered by Chuck’s brother Fred, Rizzo family niece Pamela Alderson, nephew Paul Rizzo Jr. and his children, as well as her many wonderful cousins and those who had the privilege of knowing her.
As the daughter of a military father, Nancy experienced a unique upbringing that took her to various places across the United States. This early exposure to diverse environments shaped her adventurous spirit and love for travel. In 1978, she earned an Associate in Applied Science degree from College of DuPage in Illinois.
Nancy went on to lead a life marked by hard work and creativity. In her life Nancy worked as Software Architect. She was elected Trustee to the Bensenville Public Library where she served as Board Secretary. She loved gardening, spending many hours making her yard a welcome place for birds and butterflies, especially Goldfinch and Humming Birds. Nancy had a passion for crafting beautiful handmade cards that brought joy to others and reflected her artistic talent.
A celebration of Nancy’s life will be held in the Chicago area sometime in the spring of 2025.
Nancy’s memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. May those who knew and loved her find comfort in remembering the joy she brought into their lives.
