Robert Frank Van Buskirk

Born Robert Frank Van Buskirk, his earth bound journey began on July 11, 1937 in Champaign, IL, returning to his heavenly home on September 9, 2025. Bob was one of nine children born to Frank and Jane Van Buskirk; only to find out later in life that he had an additional half brother and have sister. Bob attended Austin High School and also served in the U.S. Air Force during WWII as a plumber in Korea and part of the above ground testing of the A-Bomb in White Sands, NM. He married the love of his life, Sharon, on June 23, 1987 in Chicago, IL. Bob often referred to himself as a handyman and owned a machine shop making parts for lock tumblers, etc. He also owned and ran Bob’s Vending Company for many years. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, ten siblings, and his beloved wife, Sharon, on June 16, 2024. He is survived by his daughter, Laura, and his son, Brian; as well as many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, and good friends. Bob will be greatly missed, but we take great comfort that he is back in the arms of his beloved wife, Sharon.
