Robert Keith "Bud" Sutter

Robert Keith "Bud" Sutter age 79 suffered a heart attack on Oct. 27th, fought for 2 months in hospitals and a rehab center, trying to regain strength to return to his home in Countryside, IL with the love of his life Donna (Kuhn) Sutter. Instead, he entered his eternal home with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 29, 2024 after a brief stay in MacNeal Hospital Berwyn, IL 

Bud was born Aug 26, 1945 in Lansing, MI.  He is the son of the late Robert James Sutter and late Joan Eileen (Chapman) Sutter. His father was away at war serving in the army for the 1st 9 months of Buddy's life.   He grew up in Glen Burnie, Maryland with sister Beverly (Tom) Gale, and brother Bill (late Judy) Sutter.  He completed a  year of community college in Glen Burnie before joining his family, who had moved the prior year,in Harrodsburg, KY.  Following in his father's footsteps, Bud worked at a dairy in Kentucky.   He attended Eastern Kentucky University where he was in ROTC. 

He later moved with his family to La Grange Park, Illinois where he worked at the Brookfield Dairy.  He was a mail carrier in LaGrange during the 1967 snowstorm. He also worked at Chicago Bridge and Iron until 1984. Bud worked as a computer programmer at Wallace Computer services, which eventually became Donnelly, where he retired in 2012.

In his mid 30's he placed an ad in the newspaper which stated, "I enjoy the great outdoors, music, dancing, movies, dining out and quiet evenings..." and expressed his desire to meet a woman interested in a long relationship. Donna Kuhn answered that ad and became his wife June 28, 1986. 

Bud and Donna are members of LaGrange Bible Church where they were both baptized by Pastor Bacon in 2011. The couple also served with the church’s Golden Fellowship luncheons for many years.  Bud was a kind and generous man, loved and adored by his family including: sons from his 1st marriage: Rob (Brenda) Sutter and Jim (Kelly) Sutter; grandchildren: Morgan, Caden, Hannah, David, Timothy, Elizabeth, John, Atalie, Josiah, and Isaiah; sister Beverly (Tom) Gale, brother Bill (late Judy) Sutter. Nieces: Vicki (Bryan) Mueller, Lori (Cody) Cunningham and the late Kristin (Darrel) Noel; as well as 11 great nieces and nephews and numerous cousins. 

The family will receive visitors at LaGrange Bible Church 850 7th Ave Lagrange, IL on Saturday January 18th from 12:00 Noon to 1:00 p.m.  A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will immediately follow at 1:00.  In lieu of flowers please considering making a memorial to Lagrange Bible Church https://lagrangebible.church/give/
